Question 1

How do I interpret cryptocurrency risk charts?

Accepted Answer

Cryptocurrency risk charts display risk levels using color-coded indicators. Green (0-30%) indicates low risk periods ideal for accumulation, yellow (30-70%) shows moderate risk for holding positions, and red (70-100%) represents high risk periods where you might consider taking profits. The chart combines volatility, on-chain metrics, and technical indicators to provide a comprehensive risk assessment that adapts to market cycles.

Question 2

What is the MVRV Z-Score and how do I use it?

Accepted Answer

The MVRV Z-Score (Market Value to Realized Value Z-Score) is a Bitcoin valuation metric that identifies when Bitcoin is extremely over or undervalued. Values above 7 historically indicate market tops (red zone), while values below 0 suggest market bottoms (green zone). It's calculated using the difference between Market Cap and Realized Cap, normalized by standard deviation, providing a statistical measure of market extremes.

Question 3

What is NUPL (Net Unrealized Profit/Loss) and what does it indicate?

Accepted Answer

NUPL measures total market profit/loss as a percentage of market cap, ranging from -100% to 100%. It identifies market phases: Capitulation (<0%), Hope/Fear (0-25%), Optimism/Anxiety (25-50%), Belief/Denial (50-75%), and Euphoria/Greed (>75%). Historical data shows major bottoms often occur below 0% NUPL, while tops frequently happen above 75%.

Question 4

How do moving averages help in market analysis?

Accepted Answer

Moving averages smooth out price data to identify trends. Common periods include 50-day and 200-day moving averages. When price is above the moving average, it suggests an uptrend; when below, it indicates a downtrend. Moving average crossovers can signal trend changes. ChartInspect offers multiple MA types including SMA, EMA, and adaptive KAMA for different market conditions.

Question 5

Can I set alerts for specific crypto price levels or indicators?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Alerts are available for Pro subscribers. You can set custom alerts for price levels, on-chain metrics (MVRV, SOPR, Supply in Profit, etc.), technical indicators, and more. Most charts now support alerts, with additional charts being added regularly. Configure alerts for Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies across various timeframes. Alerts are delivered via email, Telegram, and Discord when your specified conditions are met.

Question 6

How often is the chart data updated?

Accepted Answer

Update frequencies vary by chart type: Crypto price data updates in real-time for Pro subscribers and every 15 minutes for free users. On-chain metrics update every 10 minutes for Pro users and every 24 hours for free users. Economic indicators update based on release schedules (daily to monthly). Risk metrics recalculate every 5-15 minutes. All charts show last update timestamps for transparency.

Question 7

What's the difference between free and Pro subscription features?

Accepted Answer

Free users have access to 275 charts with full historical data that updates every 24 hours. Pro subscribers get access to 8575 additional premium charts, advanced risk metrics (Adaptive Risk Oscillator, KAMA indicators, GoldWave, Market Risk aggregators), faster data updates every 10 minutes, custom alerts with email, Telegram, and Discord notifications, access to a private Pro Telegram group, CSV/JSON export capabilities, full API access, and priority support.

Question 8

What is Reserve Risk and how does it help identify opportunities?

Accepted Answer

Reserve Risk measures Bitcoin price relative to long-term holder conviction (HODL behavior). Low values (<0.002) indicate strong conviction relative to price, suggesting attractive risk/reward. High values (>0.02) suggest overheated conditions. It essentially shows when patient money (HODLers) considers Bitcoin cheap or expensive, historically marking major cycle extremes.

Accepted Answer
